Where did B4 go?
B4 closed Sunday, May 13, 2018. The building we resided in (2707 Main Street) has been sold by the owner. Thanks to all of you for taking part in this experiment in better consumption, whether by shopping for post-consumer gifts, bartering your treasured collections, or enjoying the vibe and a free game of pinball. To all of our neighbors that live and work in Deep Ellum, thanks for grabbing your local shirts, records and gifts here and for sending your friends, family and customers our way. We set the stage and you brought the magic. It has been a great trip traveling through time with you. Please email sam@b4dallas.com with any questions and concerns. Did B4 close or relocate? B4 will not reopen. The shop is now just a blip in the memories of those who loved the novelties, the flashbacks, and the vibe. However, the creators of B4 are working on another project scheduled for Fall 2018 on the 3400 block of Main. B4's website, email, and phone number will remain active. If you miss B4 or have questions:
What was B4? B4 was a neighborhood swap shop and experiment in ethical consumption. To respect and conserve resources, we stocked the store with gift-quality post-consumer collectibles and work produced by local artists. We sought to waste less, in an effort to value the social and personal sacrifices required by human labor and mass production. “Every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life are based on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving.” --- Albert Eintstein Where is Sophie ("the city kitty")? Sophie moved with the owners of B4. She is a free non-human being and has taken in a family who loves her dearly. So far, Sophie says that she is on-board for the new project. Do you want to buy or trade for my stuff? Call or text 214-923-4983 or email sam@b4dallas.com to inquire. Email or text pics and details for a response. We are looking for collections related to music and media at this time. Do you take donations? No. If we are interested in your collection, we will buy or trade with you. If you are looking or an excellent charity in Dallas that accepts donations, we recommend our close neighbor, CitySquare. |
